Another morning where we got up at 4:30am because it was supposed to be another hot day. It was quite windy in the morning which didn’t make leaving our quilts easier but well it had to be done. After 800m we refilled our water bottles and this time we had to get 4 liters because the next water source would be in 15 miles (24km). Not that long after we started hiking we finally passed the 1000km marker! What an achievement already. Soon we will be done with 25% of the whole Pacific Crest Trail. Insane how fast time flies. Today’s plan was to do around 20 miles (32km) so we would only have around 16 miles (25,6km) for tomorrow because we want to make it to Ridgecrest before 6pm. Also it should get way hotter still so the sooner we get there the better.

Today we also got to see two more snakes. Yesterday we also saw one. I think two of them were rattlesnakes and the third one I have no clue. I am fine seeing hundreds of snakes as long as we don’t get to see any spiders such as a tarantula. Then I am out of here. Around 12:30pm we arrived to the next water source where we took a longer break because the sun was yet again really intense. We got going at around 4pm again because we still had 4,5 miles (7,2 km) to go to get to our tentsite. Most of it was all uphill but thanks to the switchbacks it was quite nice and gradual. Also once we made it to the top there were stunning views and we already got to see the Sierras in the distance for the first time! Can’t wait. Shortly we got to our tentsite and well we were not the only ones with the same idea. There were already a few hikers camping as well but luckily we were still able to find some spots for us.

Další ráno, kdy jsme vstávali ve 4:30, protože mělo být zas a znovu vedro na padnutí. Ráno ale docela foukalo, což nám odchod z “peřinky “ moc neulehčilo, ale nebylo zbití. Po 800m jsme si doplnili vodu do lahví a tentokrát jsme si museli vzít 4 litry, protože další zdroj vody měl být až za 15 mil (24 km). Nedlouho poté, co jsme byli zas zpět na trailu, jsme konečně překročili hranici 1000 km! Týbrďo! Brzy budeme mít za sebou 25 % celé Pacifické hřebenovky. Šílené, jak rychle ten čas letí. Dnešní plán byl urazit asi 20 mil (32 km), takže na zítřek nám zbyde jen asi 16 mil (25,6 km), protože do Ridgecrestu chceme dorazit před 18.hodinou. Taky by se k tomu mělo ještě hodně oteplit, takže čím dříve tam budeme, tím lépe.

Dnes jsme viděli další dva hady. Včera jednoho. Myslím, že dva z nich byli chřestýši a o tom třetím nemám tušení. Nevadilo by mi stovky hadů denně, a na oplátku žádní pavouci. Jestli uvidím tarantuli, tak odsud mizím. Kolem půl jedné jsme dorazili k dalšímu vodnímu zdroji, kde jsme si dali delší přestávku, protože slunce zas pálilo o sto šest. Kolem 16:00 jsme se opět vydali na cestu, jelikož jsme měli před sebou ještě 4,5 míle (7,2 km), abychom se dostali na naše dnešní místečko. Většina trailu byla celá do kopce, ale díky serpentinám to bylo docela příjemné a pozvolné. Také jakmile jsme se dostali na vrchol, byly z něj nádherné výhledy a v dálce jsme poprvé zahlédli pohoří Sierry! Už se nemůžu dočkat až tam dorazíme. Zanedlouho jsme byli u našeho místečka a nebyli jsme jediní se stejným nápadem. Už tam bylo také několik dalších hikerů, ale naštěstí se nám podařilo najít ještě pár míst pro nás.
