This night was one of the coldest on trail and not only because we were cowboy camping next to a river but also because a mist surrounded us on the meadow. Even though there were mice around us playing catch me if you can, I fell asleep pretty fast and slept actually pretty good although we got up around 5:30am and everything around us had a nice frost on it, including our quilts. They got a little wet but thankfully were able to keep us warm throughout the night. We waited a bit for the sun to come out so we could dry some of our stuff. At around 8am we finally got back on trail. It was slightly uphill at first but pretty gradual so no problem at all. Again there was water everywhere so we were mostly carrying a liter and refilled it at times. 

At noon we took a longer lunch break and there was even a bit of snow next to us! Hopefully there will be even more once we get closer to the higher mountains. At times we were also able to see Mount Whitney! It just a few days we are going to summit it. I’m so excited. We got to our tentsite at 6pm after a rather steep climb but all the way we were getting amazing views. Tonight we are cowboy camping at more than 3000m of elevation! It is quite cold but I’m pretty sure my quilt will keep me warm. Few more other hikers joined us so I’m hoping for a nice quiet night but I’ll probably use my earplugs just in case hihi. Nighty night.
