Today we got up a bit earlier – 5:30am and left before 6:30am. Thankfully there were no more thunderstorms at night so we were safe. This week should be pretty rich in storms so fingers crossed nothing happens and moreover no big fires are caused by lightnings. Today we entered the Trinity Alps Wilderness that reminded me a little bit of the Sierras. We only met a handful of PCT hikers (=3) but there was a big group of day hikers (possibly around 40) that was passing us in the other direction. The terrain wasn’t that hard today but Stefi’s feet were still pretty sore. She was wearing the compression sleeves she got in Mount Shasta and seems like they were helping. 

Also today we planned on doing around 25 miles (40km) so we would stay well on track to Seiad Valley where we wanted to get on Friday morning. Most of the afternoon we were walking through another burn zone. Super sad seeing miles and miles of dead trees. Since our tentsite was not near a water source we had to carry some extra water for four miles (6.4km)! Oh man..my shoulders were giving me the time of the day again. Thankfully we made it to our spot before 7pm so we could still enjoy a very nice sunset while eating our dinner. At 8:30pm we were already in our tents getting ready to get some rest.
