So nice to be able to sleep in again. I got up at 8am and felt amazing. The bed was so comfy. Both Judy and Neil have left for work so me and Stefi had the whole house for ourselves. I still can’t believe how welcoming and kind most people – trail angels – are. They let complete strangers in their homes and oftentimes leave them there without a single (probably) worry. Not sure it would work like that in Europe but I guess it definitely depends who you meet. I made myself a coffee and enjoyed it on the porch with Judy’s and Neil’s two cute dogs. I called my family and friends and just enjoyed the lake view. It was another hot day but we planned on getting back ok trail in the afternoon so we still had enough time to rest. After doing our resupply for the next three days we went to the dock. Yes every house had its own dock. I definitely wouldn’t mind having a vacation house like this one.

We chilled there for a while before we returned back to the house. Judy got back from work after 2pm and then showed us the rest of the house. They have six children and eleven grandchildren so you can only imagine how big the house was. Each room had a different character and all together it was just a very cozy home. We definitely enjoyed our short stay here to the fullest. At around 3pm Judy gave us a ride back to the trailhead. We thanked her for such an incredible hospitality and also left a donation in the car. Me and Stefi planned on doing “only” 6 miles (9.6km) today, camp early and get up relatively early tomorrow because it’s going to be hot again. The terrain is getting pretty flat so it took us less than 2.5 hours to get to our tentsite. There were our “friends” mosquitoes again so we set up our tents, enjoyed a warm dinner and then got cozy in our tents. I am still in awe of the amazing time we had in Chester that I had not even anticipated. Thank you Judy and Neil so much for everything.
